Doesn’t everyone say something like that? Sure. But the TLDR version before we tell you the full story is that we quit our full-time, stable, corporate studio jobs to give this freelancer life a go, and now we’re never turning back.
Agency life is so awesome – different clients all the time, cool office spaces, creative people everywhere you look, but the allure of the freedom that freelance life brings was all too tantalising for us, so we each took our own leaps to see if we could make it work.
We thought, what if we could all do our own thing, but kind of do our own thing… together? And also, damn we all really like crumpets. SO CRUMPET CLUB WAS BORN!
We’re a collective of amazing creatives excited to help clients build their brands. It’s an agency of sorts, but it feels more like a clubhouse – a place of design worship, a hub for us to bounce ideas off of each other, a hugely supportive atmosphere, and lots of snacks.
We’re no-nonsense but also loads of nonsense at the same time.

Amy Franks
Crumpet Captain, Graphic Design, Art Direction
Amy is a graphic designer and art director, with a very big picture approach to design, and life in general.
With a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in Visual Arts, Amy has been working across different disciplines within the world of visual communication for over 15 years. Being lucky enough to experience multiple agency and in-house design roles, she’s gained invaluable knowledge of what great design means and how it can be used for good.
Immersing herself in everything from branding, packaging design, and web development, to styling lifestyle shoots on the fly, liaising with product manufacturers, brainstorming punny business names, or giving clients the pep-talks they need, Amy has many fingers in many pies!
Amy founded Crumpet Club in 2021, and hasn’t looked back.
Jenny Zhao
Graphic Designer, Illustrator, Crumpet Enthusiast
Jenny is an illustrator and graphic designer who is passionate about using colour and texture to create unique and compelling designs. Coming from an agency background, Jenny has worked with a wide range of clients, from boutique businesses to corporations, and she thrives when given a brief she can sink her teeth into. She has a keen eye for detail and is constantly exploring different styles to suit each brief, and new ways to tell a client’s story.
Her love of dogs and nature often inspires her personal illustration work, which is characterised by vibrant colour palettes, intricate textural details, and a playful, whimsical style.
Jenny became a part of the Club in 2021 and loves the creative family she has joined.
Kelsie Trainor
Graphic Designer, Illustrator, Cosmic Unicorn
Kelsie is an illustrator, graphic designer and painter who loves to dream up bright and colourful artwork where imagination reigns supreme.
Her experience working as an in-house graphic designer for large retail brands has given her the knowledge and skills to get the job done (yesterday) and a passion for creating with authentic and like-minded souls that want to make a difference.
Since departing the corporate world she has created digital art, illustrated for printed products and painted murals for clients from all over Planet Earth. Her personal art nurtures her inner child and reflects an inward exploration of mental health and her dreams of other worldly dimensions.
Kelsie has been a part of the Crumpet fam since 2022 and is so happy to be a part of the best club in the world!
